St. Patricks Day in Cabo Roig
As an adopted Irishwoman, through marriage! I've had many years surrounded by the ways and culture of this wonderful country and people. The many ex pats in this unique area combine to bring a melting pot of traditions to this wonderful part of Spain. For one day of the year, March 17, everyone is a little Irish if they wish. The lively Cabo Roig area is the center of celebrations, with one of the largest St. Patrick's Day events held outside Ireland taking place. The strip as its known, is turned into a sea of green while performing artists, motorcyclists, dancers, singers all showcase their talents under beautiful blue skies. After the entertainment all nationalities celebrate in one or all of the many bars and restaurants in the area. Close by are beautiful sandy beaches and the calming Mediterranean Sea if you need a break from the madness. All in all a wonderful day out for all the family and one of the many reasons this part of the Costa Blanca is worth visiting or residing in full or part time. A little bit of home in beautiful Spain, Sláinte as they say in Ireland and Salud as the locals say! Why not make a trip to next years festivities top of your to do list in 2024!
